When the 10 yard is the right call
The 10 yard is the size people underestimate most. It has the smallest number on the list, so it gets read as the box for small jobs, when its real job is handling the heaviest material we haul. Concrete, dirt, brick and tile only go in a 10 or a 15 yard — never a bigger container — because the weight allowance on anything larger gets used up long before the box is anywhere near full.
At 14 feet long by 7.5 feet wide by 3.5 feet high, it holds roughly three pickup truck loads and carries a 1–2 ton weight allowance built for that kind of dense debris. The low side walls also make it the easiest box to hand-load, which matters on a single-room strip-out or a small roofing tear-off — up to about 15 squares fits comfortably. It is also the shortest container we run, so it is the one most likely to sit square in a narrow Bakersfield driveway or side yard, from an older Downtown Bakersfield lot to a tight Southwest Bakersfield infill, without crowding the garage door. Standard rental runs 7 days, same as every size we deliver.
Straight advice: If the pile is dense — concrete, dirt, brick, tile — this is the container regardless of how small the job feels. Keep debris below the top rail and you are set; a bigger box does not help with heavy material, it just costs more to move.
